Systems Analyst

We currently have a position available for an intermediate level Systems Analyst in our Information Technology department.  Reporting to the Software Development Manager and working within a dynamic team of IT development professionals, this role is responsible for researching, planning, coordinating and recommending software and system choices that meet our organization’s business requirements with the aim of improving business efficiency and productivity.   More specifically:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

⪧ Oversee projects and ensure deliverables are within scope, on time and within budget
⪧ Develop detail project plan and executes as necessary
⪧ Ensure that resources are available and effectively utilized
⪧ Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our current systems
⪧ Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes
⪧ Investigate and resolve application functionality related issues and provide first level support and troubleshooting of legacy systems
⪧ Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements
⪧ Analyze data contained in the corporate database and identify data integrity issues with existing and proposed systems and implement solutions
⪧ Provide assistance and advice to business users in the effective use of applications and information technology
⪧ Provide SQL administration in live and test environments
⪧ Write and/or maintain technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide, etc.
⪧ Produce technical documentation for new and existing applications
⪧ Participate in monthly meetings with the IT department to discuss progress and issues to be resolved, report progress as necessary to management

Required Qualifications:

⪧ B.Sc in Computing Science or equivalent
⪧ Microsoft Developer or Solution Architect certifications would be an asset
⪧ 5+ years of development, programming and database design experience.
⪧ Solid background in database design using Microsoft SQL Server.
⪧ Strong SQL skills.
⪧ Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation, .NET, C#, Visual Basic, ASPX, HTML, VB Script, JQuery, etc..
⪧ Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
⪧ Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
⪧ Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure environment with changing priorities.
⪧ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
⪧ Results oriented individual who thrives working in a fast paced environment.
⪧ Knowledge of accounting and/or P&C insurance an asset.
