Peace Hills Surpasses Charity Partnership Fundraising Goal
January 23, 2020 - This time last year we launched our very first, company-wide Charity Partnership Program. We chose Pathways to Education Canada as our first partner, in hopes to raise awareness of the link between poverty and education, as well as Peace Hills’ dedication to making an impact in the communities we serve. We set out to raise $10,000 amongst our staff and brokers, which was to be matched by the company for a $20,000 total.
Through initiatives like a Piggy Bank Program (where all staff were given a co-branded Peace Hills / Pathways piggy bank to live on their desks as a daily reminder of the partnership), a school supply scavenger hunt, paycheque deductions, and various fundraising events planned by almost all of our departments, we successfully came together to meet our goal. We are pleased to report that Peace Hills and our staff donated a grand total of $20,914.31, as well as hundreds of backpacks filled with school supplies for Pathways students in Edmonton, Winnipeg and Vancouver!
Using figures determined by the Boston Consulting Group’s study of Pathways in 2007 and 2010, this contribution to Pathways has the potential to render up to a $501,943.44 return to society.
We are immensely proud of how quickly our staff got behind this initiative, proving that they really do embody our mission statement of being a unique insurance company that truly cares. We look forward to building this partnership for many years to come.
