Peace Hills Places First in 2019 Blood Donor Challenge
July 9, 2019 - Our Head Office received a visit from Sharon Willey and Nicole Russell from Canadian Blood Services to present our staff with a First Place Award in the 2019 Blood Donor Challenge (part of Edmonton's annual Corporate Challenge event).
The Challenge ran from February 1st to June 1st, and during that time the Life Bus came to Peace Hills twice to bring 13 employees to Canadian Blood Services to donate blood. We pledged to donate 14 units but ended up donating a total of 47 units, which also earned us 10 points towards Corporate Challenge - 5 points per 10 units donated, 2 bonus points for reaching our pledge, and 3 additional points for being first place in our division.
The picture on our award was drawn by one of the children at the Stollery Children's Hospital and is his interpretation of 'The Beach', which is an indoor play area at the Stollery.
Peace Hills would like to thank everyone who donated blood during the Blood Donor Challenge and would like to encourage others to donate when they can; the need is consistent and ongoing! If you would like to book an appointment to donate blood you can download the GiveBlood App, visit www.blood.ca or call 1-888-2-DONATE (6283).
